I grew up in a house where good conversation revolved around wonderful Italian food. A dictionary was always within easy reach as well as the encyclopedia and my mom’s favorite book- “1,001 Most Mispronounced Words.” She was always pulling that book out and arguing with us about our pronunciation of common words. About half the time she was dead wrong (the book was probably written back when dinosaurs roamed the earth). But I understand now, about clinging desperately to outdated pronunciations, because I myself, cringe when society accepts a public figure’s mispronunciation and a mutilated word becomes commonplace.
I guess words are in my blood. I majored in speech communication at PSU and I actually enjoyed doing research papers. While I was a student, the alumni office recruited me to write the biography of the founder of Portland State. Once I realized I could put together a book with chapters, I was off and running. I soon discovered I had a talent for simplifying difficult material so others could understand and act upon my persuasive prose. Writing became my outlet for all my soapboxes and business communication needs.
Today I make my living helping businesses with their communication needs. I am dedicated to providing outstanding customer service, and I strive to exceed your expectations.
